Windswept Winter 2022
"The question is not what you look at, but what you see."
Henry David Thoreau
There is immense beauty in every season and in your every day. In this Winter series, I chose to capture the rich tapestry of native botanicals that reside along the banks of the Missouri River in the historic First City in Kansas. It is a landscape I live amongst and watch the passing of the year from my studio window. It is a moment to pause and instruct ourselves in the lost art of being present. It is an immersion in the self as a component of mother nature's creation. Cast in time, immortalized in both memory and artistic language.

"Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air...resign yourself to the influence of the earth...In wilderness is the preservation of the world."
